Study of the Month – December 2025: Patient follow-up and maintenance
30.12.2025 · 2 min

In this December edition of Study of the Month, we highlight a topic that is often underestimated: patient follow-up and maintenance. Regular check-ups are essential to evaluate treatment success and detect potential complications early.
Data should be collected before and after implant placement, with individualized monitoring at least once a year. Examinations should assess both technical aspects, such as loosening or chipping, and biological parameters, including BOP (bleeding on probing) and probing depth.
Viewing maintenance as part of therapeutic success keeps the patient at the center of care while enhancing the quality of surgical procedures and materials. A structured follow-up strengthens evidence-based dentistry and ensures patient health remains the top priority.
Practical Support for Clinicians
At the end of this post, you will find a clear visual of our follow-up protocol, designed to help clinicians systematically track complications and optimize patient care.
